100% Design London is the UK interiors event of the year - a veritable who's who of what's new, now and happening in the world of furniture, flooring, lighting and accessories. Barker & Stonehouse has been pounding the aisles to bring you the lowdown on who and what to watch in 2009. Remember - you saw it here first!
This pup loves the Ercol Butterfly Chair, a design classic since the 1950's and super comfy too.
Look to the catwalk for your inspiration this month as we check out what the supermodels have been wearing and transfer it to the home. Click here for our guide on how to get this month's hot look.
In this month's 'ask us' we've got TV cabinets, dining room solutions, funky wallpaper, a brown bedroom and Halloween. Don't forget there's no question too big or small, so if you've got a design query on your mind email claire@barkerandstonehouse.co.uk.

Cool, Calm and Collected - If busy pattern and crazy colour just isn't you then consider a room of light tones and open spaces, a place for reflection and wellbeing.

Old School - Retro styling has been a firm favourite of fashion designers for ages and now it's the turn of the home to get a old school make over. For this look combine dark furniture with shades of green and plenty of books. It's full on geek chic and we love it!

The Boys are Back - Combine simple but striking furniture with deep dark colours and small hints or bright red or orange for the ultimate in masculine styling.

A great way to add interest to a room is by adding in some fun and funky Pattern. Any plain room can be jazzed up with the addition of some attention grabbing wallpaper or a vibrant chair.

The easiest way to add pattern is through smaller items like cushions. Neutral coloured rooms look fantastic brightened with a mixture of vibrant patterned cushions. Alternatively be a little bolder and opt for pattern furniture.
Why travel to the tropics when they can come to you? Use creams and khakis with bold rosewood furniture to bring out your wild side. Add in a tribal print of your own design to make it a personal exotic getaway.

Keep any fabrics simple, the Starbay bed looks best when combined with plain light coloured bed covers. Accessorise with tropical plants (choose some which are suitable for the home) and ornaments inspired by tropical places. If it's to your taste, throw in some large floor cushions. You could even go a little wild and have these in leopard or zebra print.
Recreate the soft romantic look of feminine... Ladies, if you're anything like me and adore anything pink and pretty then you can't go wrong by opting for a ladylike bedroom. Choose pinks, whites, delicate patterns, jewels and ornate furniture to achieve this feminine and glamorous look.

Use floral patterns to really add some feminine charm. The L'Assie chair is ideal to give the room a romantic tone.
Metallics have been a huge trend on the catwalk for some time and are looking to be a big hit all year. It will come as no surprise that this look is also a popular choice for interiors.

The first choice you have to make is which metallic to go for? Gold is warm and regal, silver is more contemporary and bronze will give the room a glamorous feel. Silver looks stunning against either a rich purple or deep turquoise. With bronze or gold I would stick to cream colours for a really sleek and stunning look.
If I could recommend one look for the summer it would have to be High Gloss, as this funky trend is set to be huge this year! The key to getting this look right is to mix it with quirky retro décor for a modern take on old school styling.

Choose one bold colour for the room and really make it stand out by pairing it with brilliant white. Opt for furniture and accessories with a quirky modern feel and add in as much shine as possible.
If you’re good with colour then don't be afraid to mix it up by adding in some other bright shades and as much shine as possible for your own super cool, high gloss haven.
For the ultimate in sexy chic there's only one look that's wowing us all: Monochrome. Use the simplest palette to create a room with drama and attitude in abundance.

To recreate this look combine traditional furniture with a chessboard colour scheme - ebony blacks set against pure whites for a distinctive decor masterpiece. Play on the drama by mixing with sumptuous fabrics and bold patterns.
